A trip to Castellon

Castellón de la Plana, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands
We fancied a spot more shopping today, so off we went to Castillon, the largest town of the province about 20 mins drive away. It was another beautiful day with more blue skies & sunshine, but we were on a mission to find some trainers & socks so we drove to Decathlon, the sporting supermarket giant. I have never seen quite so many sporting products/clothing/accessories etc, so the choice was immense, but I found some I liked – and even better, they were in the sale. Hooray.

Having enjoyed the market yesterday we also visited the one at El Grau, the port area of Castillon. The stalls here were slightly different to those in Beni, (no bras!) and but still mainly clothing, shoes & fresh produce. The promenade area at the Grau is lovely, so we strolled along it and stopped for a coffee – only to find Dave & Nina sitting there! They had cycled down & were enjoying tapas and a beer, so we joined them; how strange that we both ended up in the same place at the same time.

One feature we like in Castillon is their roundabouts (strange I know), as each one has a different feature on it, be it fountains, sculptures or models. My favourite has coloured balls on it, and I also like the one on the outskirts of Benicassim which has a huge paella pan. Back at the site, more boules was the order of the afternoon where Hubby was the hero of his team once again. I really must put in more practice.....
