Musee Marmottan, Le Louvre & Wine Tasting

Paris, Île-de-France, France
This morning after another Café St. Regis brekky, we caught RER C to visit the Musee Marmottan.  We are both lovers of Monet’s Impressionist work and had never visited this Museum before.  Unfortunately, it is a private museum, so not on the Museum Pass.
We thoroughly enjoyed the museum and the lovely house housing the artworks.  After our visit we strolled back to the RER station, after stopping for a quiche and a pichet of wine at La Muette for lunch.
Once back in central Paris we made another visit to the Louvre, which is on the Museum Pass.  We have visited the Louvre on quite a few occasions now so this time we decided to visit a list of attractions that I found online called “10 Curious Attractions at the Louvre”.
After finishing at the museum, we had an appointment at O’Chateau for a Taste of France wine-tasting experience.  This was fantastic, there were probably around 20 of us in a cellar around a table.  People were from various countries, including us from Australia, a few from the US and quite a few from Mexico of all places.  The man running the tasting explained the wines from all the different regions of France and gave some instructions on how to taste for those who had never done it before.  After that we got to taste quite a large amount of wines from the various regions, starting with Champagne and moving through whites, pinot noirs into the heavier reds.  If was a very enjoyable experience indeed and took up at least two hours.
W caught a cab from O’Chateau back to Ile St Louis as it was late and dark by now.  We had an enjoyable dinner of lamb shanks and chocolate mousse at another Island restaurant named Sorza.
