Last Day in France - More Markets

Avignon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France
Thursday was our final day in France, before catching the train to Barcelona the next day.  We had no real plans, just wandering the town of Avignon, which is how we spent the morning.
We visited Les Halles food market and poked our heads into various shops and churches.
We found a cute little restaurant for lunch named Restaurant 26.  We both ate delicious sea bass with purple potatoes, followed by chocolate fondant.  No wonder we put on weight!
The afternoon was spent strolling along Rue Des Teinturiers to see the old paddle wheels dating from the time of the silk mills.  It was so cold that the mills were all encrusted with ice. We finished the day by visiting Avignon Cathedral and another visit to Rocher des Doms to see how it was without the Mistral blowing. We had a wonderful time in France – now for Spain.
