Last Day for Paris - D'Orsay, Eiffel Tower and The Ritz

This is sadly our last full day in Paris although we are excited about seeing more of France in the next few days.
We had our regular breakfast eggs at St. Regis before heading to one of our favourite museums, the Musee D'Orsay, which is also on the Museum Pass.
After spending an hour or so there we slowly strolled through the 1st to our lunch restaurant Au Petit Sud.  G loves duck, I don’t mind it and this place had good reviews on Trip Advisor and specialises in duck and pates.  The restaurant had cute little toasters to toast bread to go with your fois gras, but we weren’t hungry enough for starters.  I had cassoulet which I had never tried and G had duck confit.  We both had a trio of brulees for dessert, delicious except for the pistachio one which I didn’t enjoy.
Once lunch was over we headed to the Eiffel Tower and purchased tickets to climb the stairs.  We have been to the tower twice before and had eaten both times at Jules Verne.  This was a novel experience to climb up and quite easy too.  Our intention was to get the lift to the very top for champagne, but the queues were huge so we had a glass of champagne on the first floor instead.
We then headed back to Place Vendome and the Ritz.  This time the bar was open.  We thoroughly loved our cocktails here.  The room was superb as was the service.  The waiter brought the barman over who asked our tastes and created cocktails to suit.  He did an excellent job, we had two cocktails each and loved them both.  Obviously not a cheap experience but worth every penny as a one-off.
A funny story as we left this wonderful, calm, peaceful little bar.  I looked over at another room that we hadn’t noticed walking in.  It was packed and full of Friday night after work drinkers and very rowdy and noisy.  We looked at the signs, which hadn’t been hung up when we arrived.  We had actually been having cocktails in the Ritz Bar and the noise packed place over the corridor was the Hemingway!!  Still we were very happy with “our” bar, it really felt like the Ritz, whereas the Hemingway was more like a pub bar.
Caught our last metro for this trip back to St. Louis and returned to Aux Anysetiers again for a lovely final meal of Sole Meuniere.
