Sigiriya Lion Rock, Central Province, Sri Lanka
People come from far and wide to Sigiriya, in Central Sri Lanka to visit Lion Rock, a 200 metre climb with ever changing, sometimes scary steps. Lion Rock is an ancient rock fortress/capital that dates back to the 3rd century.

We did the climb at sunrise, and after we’d come back down, Elenka said her back felt great. She also said she’d conquered two fears—heights and going downhill, or in this case down scary steps.

Unfortunately, the day was too hazy for panoramic shots. The photog did however get some dandy close-ups. The final two photos, I poached from the WWW.
