My apologies for the spelling mistakes, especially CRM - spelt Mackintosh, with a K.
House keeping day today, a bit of washing, no hurry to get out and about.
We needed to sort admin issues, proxy votes for a meeting of importance, Birthday and sympathy cards, cash to withdraw, Kevin is really missing a radio, so if we can find a cheapie we can leave behind we’ll get it. We Did! A Panasonic £12 - seems to be working very well.
Anyway, we left for Irvine, 35kms away from Largs, down the coast. Didn’t get far as the iPad dropped off. Hadn’t topped up. Used the phone map to get us to the EE shop in Irvine. Success.
Irvine struck us as been a bit morbid, a mix of old and new, pristine but drab and dirty in the town.
Riverside - massive retail complex. It is actually built over an access road and a very wide river. Found a card shop in the shopping mall, was so much fun, who can have fun in a greetings card shop, we did and loved it. So cheap, and stunning cards, we went crazy.
Took a break for soup, then went for a wander thru the town.
Tried two Banks to print off our proxy pages for signature, scan then email back home, but no success, the Clydesdale Bank in Kirkwall, Orkney, had serviced our needs very well, we thought no trouble but........... the Bank of Scotland kindly sent us to the local Library, the Libary were excellent, enrolled us and gave us a computer to sign into my gmail account. (I had the iPad with me but that was no use), Gmail wanted to send me a SMS to my phone - I HAVE A UK SIM NOW, talk about frustrating!!! The joys of travel.
We gave up, and sharing our despondency as we walked along the street, we saw a CASINO! I said to Kevin, no it’s a cafe, he says no, it’s a casino, ok we’ll go see, it was BOTH. so we wasted £10 trying to find out how the machines worked, they were odd, but this lovely wee (and she was wee) Scottish lady, kept ducking over to help us out every time the machines went berserk! It really was worth the £10, and the entertainment of watching her running 2 machines, it was like loud guns going off and she was rapidly hitting 4 buttons. She was lovely, but so hard to understand, her husband had died 3yrs ago, they would have been married 57yrs, AND she says, I had my honeymoon in Largs.
We’re great ones at trying to take short cuts back to where we think the car is, or the street is etc. well today we tracked our steps back, luckily, as like I said, there was a very wide river and a road between us.
Home thru the beautiful countryside, it is a lovely area here. I think Largs is a very seaside
I DIDNT TAKE ANY PICS TODAY!!!
