Valcour Island to Burlington

Burlington, Vermont, United States
The rain was predicted to start around noon, so we got up early and rowed to shore with Charlie to explore a bit of the island. We walked a path to the Bluff Point Lighthouse, looked around a bit, then hiked back to the boat. On the way back we noticed how much poison ivy was along tha path. We had stayed on the path but Charlie most likely did not. Camille is very sensitive to poison ivy so Charlie got a deck shower when we got back to the boat.

Then it was anchor aweigh just after 9:00 for a cross lake cruise to Burlington, Vermont.

After 39 days, nearly 1100 miles, 160 engine hours, and 104 locks we made it to Burlington, As our GPS in our car would say, "You have reached your destination". Almost. We are docked downtown Burlington for a few days to do some touring and get the boat ready for winter. Then we'll take Meander to the Shelburne Shipyard across the bay for haul-out and winter storage. We are confident they will take good care of her until we return in the spring for part two of our "Meander on the Little Loop".
