1954 Lunch and a Swim in the Bay

Spring Village, Saint Patrick, Grenadines/St Vincent
1 hr, 6 kms

Down the mountain again is another bay--but there's no village here, just a couple of restaurants and showers catering to the yachties docked in this secluded spot . Figure this will be a good place for lunch and I ask what's on the menu.

"We don't prepare the food until someone orders it" I'm told "It'll take about 45 minutes"

I figure after climbing up and down these mountains in the grueling heat, I could afford to take a swim and just chill while my food is prepared--and chat with a couple of the workers. It is a bit jarring to see contrast between the yachts and the very basic existence of subsistence farming on steep mountain slopes of this surrounding area...

Finally my delicious meal is ready... Then I head off through one last village a little further up this valley. Next I brace myself for my most grueling climb yet.
