Elk falls PP – July 8-10, 2013

Elk Fall PP A River spot
If you are flexible and don't mind to move… then you can get a River spot. And move the next day to an even better River spot… with Access right from the campsite to a nice sitting at the river, which makes it very convenient if you would like to have coffee in the river.

Elk Fall PP - along the river Walking along the river
On the campground you feel like in "wild" nature and then you walk along the river and look into the backyard of the locals…

Elk Fall PP - cool down time Let’s cool of in the water
It is hot – so let’s have a shower… that means hard work so we splash each other wet, because then we also have fun

Elk Fall PP - bread time!! Stockbrot
The German’s know how to make bread… and they also know how to make it over the fire… so tonight we eat German style: the bread threaded around the stick and “baked” over the fire…. That is yummy

Elk Fall PP - evening walk Evening walk along the River
after eating too much... we need a little exercise... so what better than crossing the road and walking along the River...

biking back Biking to Loveland Bay
So camping there is out of questions since it is 8 km Gravel road… but the bikes go over gravel road. So we are driving with the Motorhome until the gravel road starts and then we hop on the bikes. What we did not envisioned was the up and down of the road… so the road was wide and we came by some tiny ponds… but we were tired when we arrived at Lovelond Bay… and we have to go all the way back up again…. We need some relaxing time on the lake

Loveland Bay PP Loveland Bay PP
We discovered it’s a tiny campground, but has a nice beach… so before we have to head all the up and down back… let’s jump in the water… refresh ourselves and soak up some sun – by the way there is an empty spot J … and we enjoyed this super cool place at the lake.
One thing for sure: tonight all we do is relaxing!!!!

Elk Fall PP - that Veggies and dips
So this year’s favourite for coffee breaks is: different veggies with new dips every time when we are camping… soon we know the best dips.

Elk falls The Elk falls
Today we are a little bit smarter and we drive with the Motorhome to the brand new parking lot… and then walk over to the falls – and we start out with the large Elk falls… before we discover those brand new signs they made to warn you that it’s dangerous… (Like that would help the people you lack common sense)

a sunny spot on the rock Sun on the rocks
So well prepared we find a cool spot on the rocks … put the feet in the water when we need a cool down… have a drink and enjoy nature and life

wow taller than me Big trees
And along the walk here there are some huge trees – you know we look fairly tiny compared to those giants. And the funny part is when we cross that new little bridge we can see all those pipe lines

Going home It’s over
And like all the little camping trips… soon we are on the way back home… after another wonderful weekend.
