Mable River PP – Aug 31, 2011

So Gine read about this Provincial Park and read there is a campground. Looking on the Provincial Park web page – there is none… so a little bit more investigation and see there: it once was a campground… no a forest site for free, perfect for us.

Coming from Port Alice it is right on the way and even the campground is not clearly marked, we did found it and we got a river spot. Even better there are a few picnic tables left – our site had one and some fire pits. You can still see the posts for the site numbers. And the best the typical Pit toilet houses are there… and some even have a door… otherwise you need a look-out person.
We liked it especially since it was on our way.

So we wanted to go on that hike they have here and the sign says closed: let's try it either way and looks like they had a lot and lot of trees coming down, but most of it is cleared… it was spectacular to go through and we could do the whole way.

So we come to the Bear falls at the Mable River… it is not really a waterfall, but a cute spot at a river.
Going home a day early
So normally Gine is all for staying to the last minute – but it was rainy in the morning… and so we decided to come home a day early
And since we will soon get some visitors that is ok: Claudia and Uwe will come by with their motorhome and stay a few days before heading south.
