Vancouver City Camping July 11-13, 2012

Downtown Vancouver Free Camping in the city
So parking at the Airport is not the cheapest… and we decided to book the girl into the Travelodge and there you have free parking, that means parking for our Motorhome – oh yes and also a free camping spot for us.
So after driving through Vancouver we arrived here, parked our Motorhome in a nice corner and then took the airport shuttle to the airport

Vancouver - breakfast int he Motorhome The girls are here
We wanted to be in time… so we had lots of time to wait for the plane and spend some quality time at the airport: watching planes come and go, admire the totem poles… and then we waited even longer until they finally left the luggage claim: with lots of luggage – unbelievable what 4 people can bring. We picked them up and then we are on the way to the Motel… have them checked into their room with nearly no space left on the floor and then it's time for supper in the Motorhome and see you tomorrow morning for breakfast.
For Breakfast next morning it got tight: with one table and 6 people… but then who cares, it was fun

Burnaby village Museum Burnaby Village Museum
Day 1 is mostly jetlag… so we decided something stress-free and went to the Burnaby village museum, because here we have time to look, check out, sit down, have ice cream … and it’s fun and no city stress and we can make it as easy as we want to.

And what did we all did:
  • We went to the merry-go-round
  • Saw old trains
  • The old school house
  • Found some outdoor flower animals
  • Explored different stores and trade shops
  • Loved the old music collection of pianos and music boxes
  • Found a spot for Noah to play
  • We’re sitting in the sun and enjoying the sun
Oh and when we left, we had ice cream in the motorhome – so sandwich ice-cream was on the list for a cool down
And maybe we even learned something about the old history of Canada.

Vancouver - Chinese Buddist Temple China greets
Want to see something typical of Vancouver – it is that we have a lot of Chinese people here and therefore we showed them the large Chinese Temple as a start to feel the Chinese atmosphere and to continue on, we went towards the Aberdeen Mall and were eating Chinese…. And the most fun here is, that all is written in Chinese and you can’t really read it, you can look and buy by look… which could be supper yummy or supper hot…

Vancouver - Stanley Park - the girls & Noah Downtown Vancouver
Since it is not too easy to stop in downtown… you can still get a feeling, when you drive through…

Vancouver - Stanley Park - Totem poles Stanley Park
o what is Vancouver & Canada famous for: Stanley park –totem poles –lighthouse and the sea inlet?
And that’s what we did: we stopped at the totem poles for picture taking and everyone could admire the view on the skyline of Vancouver. Then we had another stop close to the lighthouse with more view on not only the lighthouse but also with a lot of sun and view on more of Vancouver and the inlet – Welcome to the West coast.

Ferry ride to Vancouver Island Ferry time
As where locals often complaint about: waiting for the ferry and the long ferry ride. If you are not form here: this is a super trip. So waiting for the ferry was the perfect time to have a lunch snack… one thing we discovered early on: the kids are always hungry and everything takes time.
And then on the ferry with sunshine we had wonderful views on the Westcoast and the sea… There is no better start to a visit on Vancouver Island: Feeling the blow of the wind, the view and after a long ferry ride you feel you are on the island.
