Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, United States
Today was an extra day we added to our original itinerary as Shanna had the day off work. We started the day by packing up some of Shanna's things so we could bring them home so it will be easier for her in 3 weeks. At 10:30 when the craft center opened (late openings on Monday) I went over to finish my basket, it turn out pretty nice if I do say so myself. Around 12:30 Shanna's college roommate and her mom came up from Denver to spend the afternoon with us. We decided to go on a hike to the pond even though it was lightly raining. We hiked the trail to the Pond and then Fred and the 2 girls continued on to what they thought was Fern Falls while Laura's mom and I headed back to the car (we had had enough rain and misquitoes and my knee was bothering me). Fred and the girls got about a half mile down the trail and realized that they had taken the wrong trail thanks to some other hikers telling them they were headed for Cub Lake which was 2.5 miles instead of the 1 mile they thought they were doing. They decided to turn around and and go the right way but then Laura tripped over a rock and sprained her ankle so they came back to the car too. We then went into town to Laura's Candy Shop (not the Laura that was with us but she goess there everytime she comes to Estes Park. We bought some carmel corn, English Toffee and a couple carmel apples, m m good. Then out to Mama Rosa's for dinner and back to the YMCA to say good-bye to Laura and her mom. Then the puzzle of a job getting the car packed with all the extra things we have to bring with us as we will be heading for home early in the morning, driving as far as DesMoines.

Well good! You're finally coming home! We hope to see you at Sandra and Jeremy's house warming party on Saturday evening! Sounds like you have had a wonderful trip, but now do you need a vacation from your vacation?!! I've enjoyed reading your blog and seeing your pictures, speaking of pictures, how many albums are you going to have to do for this trip?!!! I think you should try the going digital! It will be much faster! You can put all your ticket stubs, brochures, menus, etc. in a regular album and put your pictures in the digital, or you can scan all that stuff to put it in a digital album. Anyway can't wait to scrapbook again too!!! Have a safe trip home!
