Border Crossing

Victoria Falls, Kasane, Zimbabwe
This morning we left after breakfast and took a tour to visit Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. We were only eight travellers in a minivan and 6 of us took the guided tour with Savior. One bus took us across the border where a second one picked us up to do the tour.
It took about sixty minutes to cross the border and arrive at the Falls . We walked the entire distance of the falls to see all 16 lookouts of the site. We were soaking wet but it was worth seeing the falls, Livingston Island and The Victoria Railway Bridge with it's bungee jumpers. From the bridge they threw themselves down toward the Zambezi River know to house crocodiles and hippos. Just hope that their ropes don't break. Yikes!

After our walk we had a fabulous lunch which was included at the Victoria Falls Cafe. It started with a shrimp salad and tempura prawn, for the main course we had steak with veggies and for dessert, chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream served on a shortbread cookie. We all agreed that it was tastier than the desserts at our 4 star hotel.

After our visit we went to a local craft market that proved to be a somewhat unpleasant experience. The locals were very persistent and prices were three times what they should have been to engage bargaining. Not our cup of tea, too bad as they had lots of neat souvenirs.

Went back to cross the border, had our passports stamped but the van to take us back to the hotel was nowhere to be seen. We waited thirty minutes in no man's land, drying out our shoes in the sun.

Had a wonderful day, got back to the Hotel and had a sun downer drink before supper while enjoying the beautiful African sunset.
