Game Drives Shingwedzi Rest Camp

We will be in the camp for six days five nights and we plan to do at least two game drives per day. The first one at sunrise (6:00AM) when the camp gates opened and off we went till about 9:30. Upon our return we would have our breakfast, relax a little and then around 2:30 we would go for our afternoon drive till sunset which was 5:30PM.

Tonight we signed up for a night drive in an open vehicle, and an armed guide . We left the camp at 20:00 to return at 22:00. The Shingwedzi camp organization seemed to be lacking somewhat. When we arrived and 19:45 for our departure, the personnel did not seem to be informed of our night drive. Several calls were made and with a five minute delay we were with truck, one guide and blankets. Our guide was also our tracker, driver and protector. Four of the 11 passengers, including Lucie, Louise and myself operated the spot lights for all to enjoy. After an hour and 15 minutes Francois took over to give my arm a rest.

Saw a great number of animals that we normally see in the day but in addition, we did see a Jenet, a wild cat, a hare. No lions or Leopards...yet!
