 Excellent Cuisine –Impeccable Service!

During my recent stay at the Hilton Cyprus I had the opportunity to dine at the Fontana once again, where in the capacity of a Food critic I comment below on the cusine and the dining experience

AMBIENCE:

In a relaxed and pleasing ambience close to the pool and with the best company to be with, I enjoyed every moment of this culinary trip to tastes.

My good friend and Chef Andreas Georgiou and Christina his wife are no longer working here and their absence indeed was conspicuous. They were the first persons I asked to see upon checking-in.

With a wide variety of grilled options, seafood, salads and tempting desserts it was hard to choose. Stelios, the new Executive is also a good friend thus his precious guidelines came in handy for us to choose.

CUISINE:

Traditional and International -All-day dining .

Our choice was from the à la carte menu.

A playful presentation of homemade bread at first, and suddenly I felt just for a change to skip the idea of wine, and we agreed to have an Aperol Spritz.

SALADS: Skipping Appetizers as well, we decided to go for Salads instead. Both tempting, and colourfully bursting with freshness, and all kinds of flavour.

The Panache, -a combination of Garden greens with Prosciutto chips, walnuts and caramelized pineapple.

A succulent fresh Salad where the crispness of the lettuce is relished; the softness and flavour of cheese; the crunchiness of walnuts; the exotic flavour of the pineapple . Yummy and refreshing! €15.00.

The Kale on the other hand, with Halloumi cheese flakes and Cherry tomatoes was limed flavoured, with honey and mustard dressing. Mouthwatering good! €17.00.

MAIN COURSE:

We opted for the Beef Fillet Steak 240gr.

Complemented separately we had a Baked Potato and Boiled Green vegetables but we requested additional asparagus.

The pepper sauce added a piquant flavour while the steak was juicy and tender . €34.00.

DESSERT: Our dessert choice, -the Caramelized Phyllo and the Poached Pear in White wine were both tasty that words fail me.

The first was filled with fresh strawberries and served with a flavoursome Masticha ice-cream.

The Poached Pear was great too, served with Caramel sauce and vanilla ice-cream, perhaps the lightest choice with the least calories . Both deserve a try!

IN ALL: Big thumbs up to the Chef and his team. From the top notch service to the quality and presentation of the food, to the exquisite tastes and the unique atmosphere, everything was second to none. Highly recommended for a romantic outing, a business lunch or a special occasion.
