Wonderful Dining - Delicious Seafood!

The 'Seafood Bar' is another popular restaurant of the Four Seasons . It is open from May to October and it is adjacent to the Vista Terrace offering diners a delightful selection of Sushi, Nigiri, Oysters and Caviar in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

I was here recently during the three night-stay at the Four Seasons and in the capacity of a Food Critic I comment below on our dining experience. I enjoyed a leisurely Sunday evening sipping wine with a beautiful view, the company of a dear friend and exquisite food.

With an open kitchen and a more casual dining concept, a counter with oysters on display and the chefs behind the kitchen bench, everything is prepared on-site. Elegantly designed, great atmosphere on the terrace and most promising, not to mention the breathtaking sea view especially by the front seats.

SERVICE: Here, from the Chef Stavros, the supervisor Radu and the young team we enjoyed professional yet friendly service that would be hard to beat and they help make an evening in the restaurant a memorable event .

This time I excluded the Sushi, Nigiri or Sashimi and opted for the Seafood Bar Tasting menu that included most of my favourite seafood dishes. The cost comes to €49.00 per person (minimum 2 persons) including pairing wine for each dish.

OYSTERS: From the little chat with the Chef and before getting even a seat, I arranged to have Oysters as starters this time.

There’s nothing better than a plateful of clean-flavoured, briny oysters and a high quality of sparkling wine to start the culinary tasting journey.

I was happy to enjoy the oysters on the half shell raw. All three types were great but I still preferred the ones with no condiments or frills on. Their sensual pleasures goes beyond taste.

I tried to convince my friend to have one but alas! I gave her tips on how oysters are eaten, how to feel them live in the mouth but she thought I was telling her all these because I wanted to have them all to myself.

She did try one but a second later, half of it was left on her dish. The pleasure goes beyond taste –a ritual in the way you eat them!

APPETIZERS: The Sea Bass Ceviche had a foamy presentation and was a delight! Served with green Apple and Lemongrass, Avruga Caviar . Pairs well with a Prosecco sparkling wine from Italy.

The delectable Fresh Salmon kept succulent and tender thanks to the slow cook ‘en sous vide’, stood on celeriac puree, flavoured with the rich aroma of orange condiment. You will love it! Pairing wine a favourite of mine. Refreshingly crisp and fragrant ‘Techni Alipias’.

The Langoustine was another savoury delicacy. Pan-fried, served with fennel flan and crispy Quinoa. I remember the pairing wine from Chile was not of my liking and I had a second glass of the one I had.

The lemon sorbet was highly appreciated at this point.

MEAT COURSE: I can’t say I was particularly excited with the Black Angus Beef not because it was not good. On the contrary it was tenderly juicy and flavoursome but I only wondered how on earth such dish stands on a seafood tasting menu!

Not wanting to spoil the exquisite tastes of all previous dishes, I only had a tiny bite and skipped it . Contrary to my friend who is after meat, she claimed that she enjoyed every bite. The pairing wine was from Spain

DESSERT: The Red Fruit Temptation was ok. (Red fruit gelato, Cassis Espuma and marinated berries). Nice presentation but the identical dessert at Limanaki was by far better. I only had a bite but anyway this is my own viewpoint. My friend found it delicious!

The dessert was served with a great choice of an exceptional Italian sparkling rose wine and with this I finished my culinary tasting experience skipping even dessert.

IN ALL: I just cannot say enough about the quality, taste and service. The food was exceptionally good, the location the best …what is not to like!
