Amazing food, Service and Atmosphere!
During the three nights I was at The Ciao Stelio I dined twice here and in
the capacity of a food critic I comment on the culinary experience .
THE CHEF: Just for the record, Kyriakos Marinou and the Sous Chef Antonia Georgiou returned from the Culinary Olympics with a gold medal, having participated with the regional team of Cyprus. Out of 73 countries and 176 individual competitors Kyriakos took the gold in the category "Finger food and a five course menu".
I have known him from last visit when I was in Cyprus again.
Young and talented he is doing an exceptional job and I had no doubt that his team would be among the winners once again. The long hours of working and hard work finally paid off!
AMBIENCE: Elegant and chic atmosphere ideal not only for intimate dinning, but business dinner as well . Dining here is a luxury retreat to unwind, dine and enjoy the view.
MENU: A new menu has recently been introduced for lunch and dinner that also include lighter meals and salads. There is a decent range of options and the sizes of portions are brilliant. Everything was clean with even the cutlery feeling high end, all adding to the great experience.
Tables were all nicely set and the service top notch.
APPETIZERS: We had bread brought on the table with a nice presentation of dips and then the Chef's amuse bouche which was super yummy and flavoursome.
STARTERS: Fresh Salmon Ceviche is not to be missed! The Avocado guacamole topped with mango added a delicious depth of flavour to this classic dish . €11.00.
The Beef Carpaccio was also great and nicely presented, while the Soft Shell Crab was a masterpiece. Creative presentation, tasty and super yummy! €12.00 and €14.00 respectively.
SALAD: Exotic and flavoursome the Yzu Salad left me speechless.
Refreshing and mouthwatering, it is a mixed salad like none other on the list, with Sesame seeds, Pineapple, Strawberries, Seaweed and Yzu Vinaigrette. €10.00.
PASTA: We loved our pasta choices; both exceptional, so tasty that words fail me.
I can’t tell which was best, but each unique in its taste, -perhaps the Pasta Nero, so this is what I actually had the first evening and returned the next to enjoy in full the second .
This particular pasta was a seafood delight with scallops, crab meat, mussels and Tiger Prawn in a creamy Lobster sauce. Ambrosial!
The second choice the Capellachi. Imagine the pasta stuffed with Ricotta cheese, served with Crispy Prosciutto, Pine nuts, Parmesan and Creamy Basil Sauce. –A taste of heaven! €15.00
MAIN COURSE: The Duck was great and tenderly juicy. Cooked to perfection with Wild Berry sauce makes a great choice! €20.00.
The Rib Eye, extremely flavoursome and tender, cooked with Onion Rings and herbed butter had an exquisite taste! €26.00
BEVERAGE: We enjoyed a nice Rose Italian wine .
Crisp and fruity that paired well with the appetizers that followed, and later on for the mains we had the Red Home wine which was just as good and highly recommended.
IN ALL: What really must be applauded is the fantastic prices for what is indeed delicious well-presented food. All the items we sampled were cooked well and were full of flavour. The fast service and attentiveness of the staff rounded everything off perfectly though, and if you don’t pay this restaurant a visit during a stay at the Ciao Stelio or a visit to Larnaca, then you’ll have missed out. Reservation is a must especially at weekends, but hurry book for the festive season as the restaurant is not that big and you definitely don’t want to be left with no table .

When I see these beautifully arranged artistic dishes, they almost seem too good to eat. As I lift my knife and fork, I feel I am defacing a work of art.
By the way, with all this healthy cuisine, you look younger every day!
