A short stroll at the round area
A little before lunch and again later on in the afternoon I take a walk to get acquainted with the place
.
This spot out here is just as popular in winter as it is in summer because the hotel I am staying at is very near the Akama's starting trail. In fact it was here I was planning to come in March but for some reason I postponed the trip for the following year.
Starting from the beach, there is this nice restaurant which belongs to the brother of my friend and owner of the hotel. When I asked to see the price list though I found it a bit expensive concerning fresh fish, however the owner stated that they aslo serve snacks and all kinds of drinks. Of course fish is really expensive on the island anywhere you go.
I did not have the chance to check with the service or taste something from the restaurant this time since I could have everything I needed at the hotel.
While I am at the restaurant two persons are carrying out a sea turtle which is badly wounded and dead
. My heart breaks when I see the two men dragging it out and loading it on a truck.
As the sun is already high up I decide to have some lunch and rest for a while and in the afternoon take a long walk and probably if I have time jump in the sea for a late afternoon dip. In reality I only stopped swimming for a couple of months this year so it is not that I missed swimming that much. Besides, the beach is only 2 minutes from where I live.
It is simply because it is a lovely beach with clear turquoise waters and waters like these are indeed irresistible.
