Pokhara, Pokhara, Nepal
We had hoped to take a very early morning ride up into the mountains to view the sun rise over the Himalayas but sadly it was too misty,so we had a lie in and a nice hot shower, something that is a rarity in India . Sorted the laundry and then off to breakfast with the others. We took a taxi up to the Buddhist world peace stupa above the town.A hairpin ride up a dirt track to enjoy the peace and serenity overlooking the lake and town below. We saw storm clouds gathering and beat a hasty retreat down the mountain as it started spitting.we took shelter in a convenient bar with a fine view of the lake and enjoyed a beer or two as we waited for the rain to stop..It didn't and turned to hail! Eventually it stopped and we returned to the hotel to find our washing was not dry yet, presumably it got soaked on a line somewhere. No point of a tumble dryer as the power keeps going off. After dinner we are promised it will be dry by 5am just before we check out for an 8 hour drive to Kathmandu.Gulp!
