New Delhi, Delhi, India
Our next tour ending in Nepal in 10 days or so started today with us moving to another hotel 100 yards away.As our intro meeting wasn't until late afternoon we decided to visit the specialist Indian food market but found it was shut due to voting today in Delhi 's election. We did find a street market where we could have bought a live chicken for supper but instead opted for a sponge as we had left ours in a hotel somewhere oop north.
After our introductory meeting with the other 4 people on our tour we went out for a truly delicious meal round the corner. All the other diners seemed to be part of one organised tour or another doing the same thing as us. Our fellow travellers are an American lawyer,Canadian photographer,German university lecturer and a uk bank it manager. We await another traveller. An early start tomorrow as we have a 6 hour bus journey to Jaipur.
Whilst we were eating the TV in the restaurant had the election exit polls and it looks like the anti corruption party has a small lead over the bjp(the national government party) with the Indian congress party far far behind. Mr Gandhi would be turning in his grave if only his ashes hadn't been scattered
