2105. Stuck at the Border

Lobatse, South-East, Botswana
Day 3-048
6 hrs, 2 .9 kms

I really would like to explore Botswana some more, to see if it really is the "success story" I've seen it to be, or if that's just a facade. But towns are so far apart, and just not very walkable... and I've got 4 more countries to explore yet. So I'm heading back south, down to South Africa once again.

The train ends in Lobaste, near the border, where I do a quick walkaround, find a cybercafe where I can upload and save my pictures, and enjoy my last Botswanan snack: a meat pie.

I doesn't seem like there's much public transportation heading into South Africa. I'm told that the best option is to hitchhike. Seems a bit iffy, considering how dangerous South Africa is in normal circumstances, but it seems this is a common way of getting around, people offering rides for a set fee when going from city to city.

Soon a lady passes by and offers me and two other guys a ride... And so we're off, and I reluctantly bid Botswana goodbye...
