Singapore via Hop on/ Hop off Bus

Singapore, Singapore
After brekkie we headed out on foot towards the waterfront / quay area where we
spotted the Port Canning Park where the British first raised the Union Jack . Continuing
along the road we were attracted to the MICA Building with its colourful window
shutters & interesting artwork & sculptures in the courtyard display windows.
After crossing the road towards the river we spotted the Hop on / Hop Off bus & decided to be real tourist for the day.
We traveled all over Singapore on the yellow line seeing the major sites, Suntec Centre, Clarke Quay, Botanic Gardens, Orchard Road, Raffles.
After transferring to the red line we made our way past Supreme Court & Boat Quay before alighting in Chinatown for lunch.
Interesting experience although very touristy.
After rejoining the bus at Suntec Centre we continued on past Marina Bay Sands & the huge ferris wheel (Singapore Flyer) we decided to head for Arab Street & Hadji Lane. After alighting at the wrong stop we past through very ummm authentic neighbourhoods & came across the Mustafa Centre. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!! It was a department store rabbit warren where every inch of floor & wall space was taken up with 'stuff'.....
I had decided to buy myself a watch & we went in search of the watch department. OMG every watch in the world was on display.
My traveling buddies had all conspired & had agreed to buy me a gift for helping out with the trip bookings. They bought me a beautiful watch that I absolutely love, what a great & very much appreciated surprise!!!
After much walking in the Singapore heat we found the next bus stop & gladly rested whie waiting for the final bus back to the hotel.
