Travel Day

Because we did not have far to travel today we did not rush in the morning, and being partly cloudy and windy, there was an urgency to leave . We traveled north-west on U.S. Rt. 50 to I-70 B.L. and our campground, “Junction West R.V. Park” in Grand Junction CO. Like most campgrounds in the high desert of CO this one is all gravel, no grass, and few trees, but the
sites are long and wide, it is a pretty good campground. Because it was only a 78 mile drive today we got here around 1:30; so after setting up camp we set off to explore the local
wineries, of which there are over 20. Unfortunately because the tourist season in this region has not begun, most of the wineries were not open. We did find one that had their tasting room open, and the 3 wines we tasted were pretty good, but the prices were high; so we did not buy any.
