Day

Today was a perfect day to travel, sunny but not to hot and not to cool . We headed north on US 191 out of Moab and then west on I-70. The eastern end of I-70 was basically desert with high mountains and when the sign says no services for 106 miles; believe it, there was nothing but desert in the form of rolling hills. Further west we entered the Pahvant Mountain Range where the scenery changed dramatically to beautiful mountains and mountain valleys, we also encountered several sections with steep grades of 6% for several miles, the ascents were not a problem, we slowed up a little; but it was the descents that we had to be careful of because of the potential for the brakes to overheat. At I-15 we turned south for a while, then east on UT 20, here we also ran into some steep grades both ascents and descents; we then turned south on US Rt. 89 to the town of “Panguitch. The drive today while long was through beautiful country; and the further west we got it seemed to get greener. In Panguitch we found a small but nice campground the “Hitch-N-Post Campground”, the people are friendly and
the campground is well maintained, I think we will like it here.
