We left Bergues around 10am on a beautiful morning heading towards Brussels. As it was the May Day BH the roads were very quiet and all the shops shut.
We went via Poperinge and Ypres and the lovely green fields, brightened by the acid yellow of rape belied the horror that had taken place around here.
We made our way around Brussels and on into Limburg, near the river Maas and the borders with Holland and Germany. We stopped at a nice ACSI site costing only 12e.
We were both feeling under the weather and very tired - so a very early night for us!
