What a Belter!

Tårup, South Denmark, Denmark
It was raining when we woke up this morning, so after making preparations to leave, we made a quick dash to look at the Cathedral properly, hoping that there wasn't a service on.
The highlight of the Cathedral is the altar piece, which took Hans Bruggemann seven years to carve from 1521.   It contains approx 400 individual figures and some of the carving is so fine it looks like lace.
The Cathedral is very high of brick and white-painted plaster with frescoes and reminded us of the one at Lubeck. The chairs in the choir were decorated with roses and ribbons and it looked as though a wedding was about to take place.
We left the Aire and headed to the supermarket to stock up before heading to Denmark.
It rained on and off all the way to the first bridge in Denmark. This one is FREE!! We had decided we needed some R+R so we headed for an ACSI 16e  (very cheap for Denmark) campsite at Tarup, about 10kms from Nyborg.
Once we turned off the main road it seemed to take an age to get to the site, passing through kms of farmland. We weren't sure quite what to expect. What we found was a nice spacious site with large grass pitches and lots of well kept statics.   We were directed to pitch no 155, which turned out to be right on the cliff top, with an amazing view of the Great Belt Bridge.  There are goats nearby, and lots of different land and sea birds.
The view of the bridge is fascinating and seems to change with the light and the weather.
As we are on the cliff top it is quite windy, but we sleep fairly well - coughs allowing!
