Norway - we did it!

Oslo, Oslo, Norway
Another lovely sunrise, which I managed to capture ,and another lovely day. We moved on northwards towards the border and Norway.  The countryside became increasingly hilly and rocky- in places the motorway had been cut through the rock. This didn't seem very Swedish - I thought it was very flat and forested. Eventually we saw a sign 'Toll Plaza' and realised we had reached the border - we had to pay a toll to get across the big bridge at the border! We knew this must be Norway! We then had to queue at the border for customs. We went through the 'nothing to declare' lane and after the 4 police/customs men waved us through, I wanted to wind the window down and shout -'we've got potatoes' -but thought better of it!  ( you are not allowed to bring potatoes into Norway, a non EU country.)

We carried on towards Oslo and went through 2 more electronic tolls. They are like the ones in Portugal, and work by numberplate recognition. We have opted to pay at home by invoice. it can take up to 6mths for the invoices to come through. God only knows how much the final total will be - we pay 3 times the fee for a car!  Our campsite was well signposted from Ring road3, and we found it easily. It can hold 800 units and is the only one open at present - the others don't open until June. It has its own petrol station and supermarket. The site is nearly full, our pitch is right on the edge.   The cost is about £25 per night and electricity and showers are extra. We opted for the electricity but will use our own shower, using their electric to heat the water of course!
We spent a lovely evening sitting outside for a while. Sunset was at 9.30pm

The forecast is for another nice day tomorrow.
