Ascension Day

Uddevalla, West Coast, Sweden
We woke soon after 5am with a glorious sunrise peeking around the blinds. The fjord looked like pink glass, but I couldn't take a photo because it was too bright. We had a morning cuppa and then went back to sleep until 8 o'clock.
Today was a Bank Holiday in Sweden and most people make a long weekend of it, so all day families were arriving in enormous caravans.   There were several Norwegians outfits there as well.
We had a nice lazy day in the sun. We walked along the beach and around the headland. The rocks were like granite ,but with a lot of sparkly quartz which made them shine in the sun and a lot of another type of pink rock. We sat on a rock watching a group of Eider Ducks, very close up, calling to each other.
