Non-Travel Day

After lunch today we went back over to Betty & Albert’s home to continue our visit with them
To familiarize us with their town of Julesburg they took us for a quick driving tour and then a stop at the “Old Ford Garage” a museum containing antique cars and a tremendous amount of historical memorabilia from the town, including pictures and local newspapers. Next we headed down the street to the “Fort Sedgwick Historical Society Museum”, that is housed in the old railroad station, here again there was a lot of history on the town and the county along with Indian artifacts and general items of historical value. We had a great time at both museums. After a
delicious dinner that was prepared by Betty we headed to the county fairground for a demolition derby, where 10 cars competed in 2 heats to see who would survive. This was a lot of fun and we all had a great time. We had a wonderful visit with Betty and Albert and hope to return for another visit in 2 years.
