Travel Day

It was raining again this morning but by the time we had to pack up it had decreased to a light drizzle . We feel lucky as this was the first morning on our trip that it was raining when we broke camp. Our destination for today was a short trip north on I-25 to the town of Loveland and the “Loveland RV Resort”. We arrived a little after 12:00 and because we still had all afternoon we decided to do some exploring. We headed north on I-25 and then west on CO Rt. 14 into the mountains.  The road followed a mountain stream through canyons and into the mountains, we stopped several times to enjoy the mountain stream and on several occasions to watch rafters float down. After about 2 hours we turned around and retraced our steps, on the way back we spotted several “Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep” grazing on the hill side not far off the road; we were completely surprised at the sight of the sheep and also because they did not run when we approached, there were 8 that we could see, adult females and several calves.  Watching them climb over the rocks and boulders was amazing. Returning to the campground we sat outside
enjoying the late afternoon air with a glass of wine and our books.
