Non-Travel Day

Today was a wash out; it rained all day and at times very heavily; so we stayed in the camper . We did however go out for dinner; we met our good friend Michael Lori from Palm Coast, for a delicious meal at a fantastic restaurant in Denver. The “Buckhorn Exchange” is billed as the
oldest restaurant in Denver, and the building and the decorations seem to bear out this claim. They also claim to hold Colorado Liquor License # 1 that hangs over the upstairs hand-carved oak bar that was built in 1857. Adjacent to the bar is a parlor decorated in Victorian furniture where we relaxed with a pre-dinner drink, and some of the furniture looked to be actual period pieces. The downstairs dining room was small but did not seem crowded and was decorated with old pictures animal heads and memorabilia from the late 1800’s.
For our meal Michael had a Buffalo Prime Rib while Val and Jack had the special for the night, a combination Buffalo and Elk tenderloins; all of our meals were delicious, and we had a great conversation with Michael.
