Today I was going to goto the New York Transit Museum in Brooklyn. I thought I could take lines 2 or 3 but only line 1 comes to this station and I would have to change further down to lines 2 or 3.
I already had my 7 day pass so wanted to get good use from using different subways.
At Pennsylvania Station I had to change from Line 1 to Lines 2 or 3 even though they all ran on the same track
I didnt know that lines 2 and 3 are express trains. They will skip through many of the smaller stations.
At Borough Station in Brooklyn I had to follow signs and the map to get to the Transit Museum in a former metro station. Entrance is $10 and better to buy online for a timed slot as you may have to wait in person due to capacity.
As a former station there are two levels. The station level and the platform level.
The station level was the exhibits showing the history and construction of the New York metro.
On the platform level was the fun stuff. They had carriages from each decade from 1910 to the 1980s.
It was fun to go in and out of the carriages and see the advertising from different decades. Some of the decor was actually quite bad and the seats not very comfy in the earliest years.
A great place to visit for any enthusiast.
