Returning to Sarajevo from my overnight trip first I wanted to get my bus ticket to Novi Pazar Serbia for two days later. These cross border buses and online information were not reliable. The station already told me there was a daily bus at 3pm so I wanted to get my ticket ahead for peace of mind.
The ticket was 40 BM (20 Euros) and the same price for a 7 hour cross border bus ride as it had been for a four hour bus ride to Jajce (37 BM). There was no money exchange at the bus station and I had to go to the nearby post office to exchange
Walking back to my apartment in the old town I followed the north route of the tram line vs the south route along the river.
This brought me to a fresh produce market. This was actually the site of a massacre when shelling hit locals during the 90s war and helped turn world opinion.
After returning to the apartment drop my bags and leave my camera batteries charging I wandered out again
Some of this out of sequence in other entries. When I did the Konak district I didnt find the Tomb of the Seven Brothers so retraced my steps. I also wanted to scout out the cable car route.
Back in the old town by nightfall the evening prayer calls were being called on the loud speakers
Bosnian Mosques are mostly locked until prayer time so I was able to get into the main Beg Mosque and the nearby Mosque in Sebilj (pigeon) square which I think I've only ever seen from the outside
It was more touristy than my 2007 visit with big Turkish groups. There are also more pizza restaurants as I found a heavy meat diet last time difficult. The main change I did not like is they no longer play the Bosnian music in the old town, something I quite enjoyed
