Kotor Old City Walls, Kotor Municipality, Montenegro
Continuing on from Budva I was able to take the 2pm bus to Kotor. It was 5 EU + 1 EU for bag and not too full surprisingly.
On arrival in Kotor I tried to text my apartment to tell them I was here. The text kept failing. This was a problem I was going to have crossing so many borders that my SIM card does not work everywhere and I did not want to keep buying local SIMs for a short time when I would have wifi in the apartments
So apparently they were receiving my texts despite the "failed" message and they replied for me to goto a nearby restaurant.
Upon entering the Old Town it was easy to navigate my map and go right to the door of the apartment. However I did not have the key so had to ask local stores how to get to the meetup point to get the key.
It was very touristy and I was glad to finally put my bags down in the apartment. It was small, poor lighting at night, but ok for a quick overnight stay.
The apartment owners and many of the tourists were from Turkey. With the Eid holiday week many had chosen to come here for their holidays.
There are scenic cobbled streets and some churches. You can also walk along the exterior waterfront walls
You can also climb up the mountain for stunning views of the bay and old town. I wanted to see how far you can go before you have to pay and I wasnt going to go all the way up anyway which could take a couple of hours. I did not have the energy to be climbing with so much daily walking so gave it a miss. There are lots of photos online.
I went back to the room to rest after a long day from Podgorica, Cetinje, Budva, and finally Kotor. With all the bus connections this was going to be one of the most tricky days and I made it to the final stop with no mishaps.
