Old Town, Budva Municipality, MontenegroI was back at the Cetinje bus station at 11.15. The next bus was 11.55 but they said they can not sell me a ticket until they call the driver to see if there was room. Next bus was 12.30.
Luckily after about 20 mins she called the waiting people over and was able to sell tickets. The cost to Budva was 3.50 Euros
As we leave the interior and head to the coast we had some spectacular views as we come down the curving mountain roads. Its best to sit on the left as you travel north along the coastal route.
The Old Town could be seen jutting out into the Adriatic as a little Dubrovnik. There are many such coastal fort towns along the Adriatic with Dubrovnik being the largest and most famous
With all the high rises pressed against the mountain it seemed more like Monte Carlo
On arrival I checked the schedule and next bus to Kotor was at 2pm. I also had to be early as it was more crowded along the coastline so I had to make sure I had a seat on the bus or would lose time. These buses probably sell out in peak summer months
From the bus station it is a short walk to the Old Town but there was a lot of road construction and new building development creating a lot of diversions.
Eventually I made it and I had to watch for time to be back for 2pm. It was hot and I was carrying my luggage.
The Old Town is quite small and can easily be done on a short visit. There were boat tours but I didnt have time for that.
The main church had a 4 EU entry fee. The Citadel was 5 EU. I skipped both as there would be a lot of repetition in these coastal towns.
I was there maybe 20 mins then had to make my way back to the bus station thru all the construction
I was back at the station 1.45pm for the 2pm bus
