Bus Station, Federacija Bosne i Hercegovine, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Today I was leaving Mostar for Sarajevo. I had planned on doing a tour to Konjic and Tito's Bunker but the travel agencies did not have bookings from Mostar so I thought from Sarajevo I would have better luck.
It had rained overnight and the temperature was much colder than I was planning on Bosnia. I left the apartment at 10.30am, walked to the bus station and got tickets for the 11am bus.
The ticket was 28 BM (14 Euros). The train station is also beside the bus station but they only have two daily trains and the next train was 5pm.
Having not done this route since 2007 I forgot all the scenery.
The road and train line will both run parallel to the Naretva River which is quite scenic in its unique rich blue colour like a fruit drink
As you go thru the mountain tunnels you cross from the Mediterranean climate zone to the Central Europe climate zone.
I was surprised to start seeing snow in mid April in Bosnia. I knew it was too warm to settle in plus double digits but was still surprising and scenic
Yesterday was the coldest day in single digits so all this snow was going to melt within a day.
On arrival in Sarajevo it changed to light drizzle, same as my first arrival in 2006
I recognized many of the buildings from my last two visits in 2006 & 2007.
First thing at the bus station I had to check times for onwards day trips and the bus leaving to Novi Pazar Serbia as online information can not be relied upon. The Novi Pazar bus matched the online information but the day trip to Tesanj the bus times were wrong throwing off my plans.
