5/9/13 Karumba to Croyden
The 70 Kms to Normanton through the salt pans of the dry wetlands earned us a coffee and custard tart at the Normanton bakery, after a Photo shoot with Krys, the largest croc ever caught up here - well a replica of it, as the LADYwho caught it probably wanted a life time supply of crocodile skin handbags!

The road from here to Townsville, is the called the Savannah way, Croyden is our next stop, we drove straight to Belmore dam, about 4kms outside Croyden - where we met up with Mick, Larry and Lyn, again, who told us Mick had a scored a gig at the pub, that night .

After a lunch of Karumba gulf prawns we made camp in the Croyden Caravan Park, well located within walking distance of everything in Croyden. At $15 for an unpowered site including free washing machine use and a pool, this is a real bargain ( powered sites are double the price).

Naturally Marg & Sue washed everything in site, Tony prepared a lovely lamb curry, while it was simmering we walked down to the pub for a "we love to have a beer with Mick" sing a long - and few cleansing ales of course.
