Fathers day too .

After laundering the fishy gear, visiting the local Sunday market and having coffee and cake at the sunset tavern, we headed to Karumba town to pick up food and drink for tonight's happy hour.

We had shopped in Cloncurry, expecting about 60 people for the happy hour, but the park informed us they would be at least 3/4 full and estimated at least 100. Before opening time the people rolled in and by 5pm the park was full so at least 150 turned up, making it our biggest happy hour ever, we were very thankful for the help of Marg, Tony L, Larry & Mick.

Mick did a stella job of entertaining the crowd, whilst the rest of us tried to get everyone's names onto the competition forms - before the booze ran out.

After happy hour we all collapsed in a heap over some wine and a bit of cold fish, that Tony had cooked earlier, in newspaper - the Tasmanian trick - wrap the fish in 5 individually wetted sheets of newspaper, cook over coals or open flame until newspaper is black - when you remove the newspaper, the skin peels off the fish and it is delicious.
