Desert oaks resort was not the oasis written about breakfast was a challenge we ended up with a coffee and a couple of muffins.

The day was glorious hardly a cloud in the sky and the temperature was good for riding. No far to go today so we took it steady the Lasseter highway was at least a bit varied and a bit more interesting than some recently.
Eventually in the distance Mt Conner appeared first of the giant Mesa some people mistake this for Uluru and go home. Not us . We stop at Curtain Springs which had Emus roaming around the free camp site.

First glimpses of Uluru far on the horizon are beautiful as the road winds it way across the rocky undulating plain the glimpses become more often until just as you near the village it stands there on the horizon.

Hotels very expensive so we decide to camp and knowing Marion and Lindsay are also camping we chose a place to pitch our tent hoping the tent across is Marian and Lindsay. They are a bit surprised when they come back from their ride to the Olgas to find us back. This is our first meet up since we left Buenos Aires so its really good to see them again

Catching up all afternoon we realise if we don't rush we will miss the sun set. As we get yo Uluru the colours are amazing how the light excentuates the patterns on the side of the rock. Then the sky starts changing colour subtle pinks and then bursts of red and gold.
