Stopover 21 - An Aire in Angoulême

Angoulême, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France
Hi folks,
Hope you have all had a great Christmas Day and a big Christmas dinner. We had a good trip here from camping Laroulette in Urrunge. Since entering France yesterday afternoon we have had great weather although we can hear the rain on the roof just now.
This is a small aire with space for three motorhomes with free electric and water, however, we were beaten to it by a French motorhomer. Oh well! Although it doesn’t seem so bad now we have found out the electric isn’t working! Everything on gas is no great shakes to us, we have a lot of it.
Filling the motorhome up with diesel was a challenge, I could just fit the cab into the pump area and then use the full length of the hose to reach, it all worked though and having paid only €1.27 in Spain it’s a bit of a shock paying €1.70 on the motorways. We didn’t, we snurgled into the small station at a local supermarket and paid €1.32. Pays to shop around.
We have had a mooch around the local area but with it being Christmas Day everything is shut so it’s a quiet evening in the MH having had our Christmas dinner and a couple of beverages.
Tomorrow we head off to camping Les Acacias in Tours for a night where we will get the dog sorted out and her passport stamped ready for the trip back on the eurotunnel train, we then move on further north.
Stay safe.
