Hi folks,
We thought we would have a bit of a different stopover and picked a place by a beach, getting here was interesting, the route took us through a hillside town before ending up on the road to the stopover place. However as we passed lots of police tape blocking access it was not looking good, as we turned a corner I did say ‘if we don’t see a stack of motorhomes parked up in the distance we may be looking for somewhere else’. Seems to be a bit of a thing in Spain at the moment, some of the places on the available ‘apps’ are either all closed up or have been built upon. Having found a ‘service point’ in a town closed we were hoping for the best. Alas, around the corner we could see a few motorhomes and tucked ourselves into a space big enough to be comfortable.
A British couple came over and introduced themselves telling us not to put the sun canopy out but chairs were okay, we complies although across the area there were Spanish folk in both motorhomes and caravans, when the police visited, as they did several times a day, nothing was said, just a friendly wave and a ‘Hola’.
We did the customary walk with Bonnie and the sandy beach was less than 100 yards away, the plan was made for the next day, we were going on the beach, there was a little town a couple of miles away but we didn’t need anything so didn’t bother going.
The beach was good, the water was warm and our tans were improved, thoughts were gathering as to where next. I think the fact there were lots of naked old blokes strutting around on the beach helped make that decision, and so the next day, having gathered some more info from the Brit couple who it transpired only lived down the road we were on the move.
