Stopover 15 - Balerma - Camping Mar Azul

Balerma, Andalucía, Spain and Canary Islands
Hi folks again,
I couldn’t fit in the whole title for this place but it should be ‘Camping Mar Azul - Little Germany’. I walked around the site and of the 300+ pitches there were only 40 odd none Germans, and 2 Brits. I got talking to the Brit and he is here for three months, thinks it’s a great place! However, it is a massive site built on what must have been a plan for a car park. Lots of rows and pitches with a couple of toilet blocks thrown in nearer the front which sort of confirms it has expanded over time. The bar faces south and therefore a bit of sunshine, we had to stop for a beer after the dog walk, sound familiar, and a walk on the beach without sand! Just industrial gravel, that’s what it looks like! Again it is horrendously windy so although we could only have two nights I think that’s all we would have done anyway.
We took a walk into town this morning, our second day here, and it is deserted, there are a lot of new buildings but a lot of unfinished constructions, both houses and shops. We did find the only supermarket and have topped up with stuff ready for the next few days.
Tomorrow morning we will pack up (meaning wrap up the electric cable) top up the water and ditch all our waste and head off again to what could could be another quirky stopover on a beach north of Aguilas, and away from the south coast and wind, fingers crossed.
