10th stopover - Port of Almerimar

Puerto Almerimar, Andalucía, Spain and Canary Islands
Hi folks,
This was a last minute choice but what a gem, flat concrete and level spaces, we arrived early so had the pick of a lot of plots and it was full by the end of the day. Checking in was a bit of a challenge as it took Maureen an hour, I suspect the majority of that time as blathering but in the meantime I had done all the things necessary to sort us out, including packing away the shopping we picked up en-route.
Moored nearby was a sea going yacht with a double mast that must have been at least 60 metres high, with the wind it produced a low humming noise which kept us awake most of the night, along with the high wind rolling off the beach and rocking the motorhome. Needless to say the decision was made to move on after two nights.
.
Finding a place to move to was my job whilst Maureen wanted to go to the supermarket to get some ‘stuff’. We had a recommendation from our friends Robert and Lilian but also had a site in mind that we had seen before, it was decided that we would go to El Rincon near Malaga and use our friends recommendation another time. Maureen went off shopping and came back with……. Clothes. Bits she needed but also she had seen some bits I needed so we trekked the short distance and bought a bit of clobber!
We did a walk on the beach with Bonnie when the wind had backed off, it blew her around when walking around the marina, but the ‘sand’ is like crushed gravel, I knew I would be in for a hard time overnight with her and it rang true, Bon’s was up every hour snorting as she does, it’s part of hers and my life unfortunately. Maybe, just maybe, we will get through one night without having to tramp around in the dark! Mind you, sometimes it can be quite enlightening as you can imagine, we bumped into a mini sausage dog which after a while made it’s way back to its motorhome, this was in the early hours!
This stopover was fine albeit the showers are 300 metres away, the first one was scorchio but this morning it was cold, a bit like a dip in the Javea sea on New Year’s Day, only Rick reading this will know what I mean! Anyway after two nights it was onwards and upwards again, heading west to somewhere near Malaga. Still waiting for the Morocco ferries to start running!
