Security is very tight at the airports the only thing you have on is your clothes everything else and you is scanned. I kept on forgetting to take my laptop out of its bag that has to go through the xray scanner separate. At least this time I didn't need to be I only had my hair patted down because of my clips. Richard had his Passport double checked he nearly thought he was going to be left at the Airport, but being a British citizen they let him in. I call him King Richard and his subjects are to obey him except me.
The lady at the Information desk was very helpful gave us a lot of brochures on BC and how to catch the Sky Train to Vancouver. The people of Vancouver are so friendly and helpful. At the entry to the Canadian Sky Train the Attendant did our tickets (Seniors) for us and pointed us in the right direction and when to get off. The Sky Trains are brilliant there are three lines Expo, Millennium and Canada. It takes no time to get to the Vancouver City Centre Station (all underground).
The Century Plaza Hotel in Burrard Street was a few blocks away about a 15 minute walk but we had entertainment on the way. A section of Granville Street and Robson Street was closed off of the Viva Vancouver Festival. Multicultural atmosphere with food stalls, dancers and music from South America (Cuba, Brazil), Africa and Asian. The dancers and band from Brazil were the main attraction with a big gathering of spectators. Us little people couldn't see we just looked through people's video camera's that were raised high recording.
Was an enjoyable walk to the hotel booked in with no problems high up in Room 1902. This is a lovely self contained unit with lounge, dining, kitchen, bedroom and tiny bathroom. Flat screen TV in lounge and bedroom with too many channels, also nice to have a desk in the bedroom better reception there for WIFI.

Being old farts not computer minded etc we were always in touch with the young guys at Front Desk for help. Their IT man helped with connecting to their WIFI, Housekeeping for extra kitchen items and Maintenance on how to work the stupid microwave. Why does each hotel have unfriendly microwave ovens with no instructions a person could die of starvation.
A quick shower and change of clothes put us in a better mood. We went done and joined in the festival atmosphere before buying some supplies for dinner and breakfast. The corner Marketplace IGA is handy but a bit expensive. Enjoyed a lovely roasted chicken with broccoli coleslaw and bean, mushroom salad followed by naughty carrot cake. Thought I was overcharged with the chicken but apparently they write the time on the chooks of when they were cooked.
Another late night we seem to be going to bed at around 11pm but still we are on holiday and enjoying being Grey Nomads.
