Comox, British Columbia, Canada
Another misty morning up early for breakfast packed double checked the cabin said our goodbyes to people in next cabin. Seeing the Owners were naughty with not having everything in place we borrowed their Starbucks ground coffee and teabags for an extended time.

At 8am there was hardy anyone on the road very misty Richard had to have the wipers on for some time. Back on Highway 4 for a long drive to Port Alberni (105kms) Richard is more experience now with driving and it didn't take as long going back. Missed looking at Kennedy Lake thick mist blocking the view but it wasn't dangerous driving. Pulled into a slipway for a stretch on the hillside at Sproat Lake. what a lovely view of the lake but then all the lakes with surround forest start to look alike.

Continued on driving to Port Alberni where we stopped for a Latte at MacDonalds Richard took his ipad in to check emails and I phoned Darryl to double check we were meeting him at 12.30pm at the Buckley Bay Ferry Terminal. It's just after 10am and we continued our drive to Buckley Bay Jill is certainly doing her job with directing us there. The highway system here is so easy to follow with all the signs but I think we would still have difficulties getting to the highways without Jill. Finally reached the Petro Canada Petrol Station next to the Ferry Terminal with an hour to spare. Walked down to the waters edge along the pebble beach watched the cars drive onto the BC Ferry to go over to Denman Island then onto Hornby Island. Darryl arrived dead on 12.30pm and we had our photo taken as you can see me receiving our blue folder with Passports, airline tickets, International Licences and hotel bookings. Boy do I feel relieved now I have the folder in my hands it is something I have never done in my whole time of travelling.

With peace of mind and a laugh at myself for being an idiot Richard keyed in Terry's address and we were off on our way again it's only about 30 or so kms to go to Comox. Terry and Diana live north of Comox in a rural area on an acre block.    Richard keyed in the wrong house number and we drove right passed their place did a u turn and saw Terry sitting on the front porch.    Their daughter Kathy, husband Frank and their son Alex (9) Perry (15) Frank's son by previous marriage live in the main house where they used to live but now they live in the little house they built for Diana's Dad.  Kathy's older adult children by previous marriage Christina (21) lives in Calgary with her boyfriend and Kevin (19) lives in Courtney.  Terry and Diana are a lovely English couple in their 70's and he is Richard's cousin.

The rest of the day was spent catching up on lost time and stories of years gone by. Terry is into the Ancestry Tree and we got him up to date with Richards side of the family (Julie, Joy and Richard's family details). They are self contained grow their own veges, have fruit trees etc. We sat down on the back porch and had homemade apple juice while they had blueberry wine. Out of nowhere came their resident deer's with their babies.    I raced inside for the camera and took a photo of one of the Mum's. The deer's are so friendly I suppose it is because Diana and her daughter Kathy have been feeding them leftover vegies and damaged apples. Having a small house we have taken over the Study and are sleeping on the Day & Night sofa. Got ourselves settled while Diana prepared a tossed salad and cold chicken. Home grown food is beautiful no chemicals. Terry showed us a video of when David (Richards older brother) and his wife Supporn were there last year (they were loading the canoe onto the car) and some old family photos.
