Comox, British Columbia, Canada
The weather is a bit cool today and the sun is trying to come out this morning. Had a leisure morning till I went on the Internet checking BC Ferry Timetable from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay with a peak boarding time from 10.20am to 5.30pm. The drive to Nanaimo from Comox takes about 1hr 35mins so wishfully thinking we can be up early and there before that time.

Starting to go even grayer when trying to book Condo's at Whistler and Kamloops or Sun Peaks which is 25 miles further on but is meant to be much nicer. Sent emails to a few places but waiting for replies in the end I rang the different places. Don from Lake Placid Lodge is booked out till winter and advised me Trip Advisor was not up to date with calendar dates and vacancies told me to go to Allura Direct which is up to date with vacancies.

Rang Carmen at Gondola Village Whistler Creek and we can get in there for Wednesday 14th for two nights just need to confirm with booking agent tomorrow morning. Booked online for condo at Fireside Lodge Village Sun Peaks for Thursday 16th for two nights and that is confirmed and paid for by my MasterCard. Both of these are Sky Resorts and are very popular even in summertime a lot of people do mountain bike riding something Glen at Bidvest would love .

All of these bookings I did round 6pm so I am very relieved our next part of our journey is booked.

After having home smoked salmon with salad for lunch we all got in the car and Terry drove to Seal Bay National Park. Seabank Street takes you to Seal Bay National Park where the road runs in line with the sea and you can see all the million dollar homes backing onto the sea. Lovely views but one day the cliffs will give way like in America and the homes will fall into the sea.

Walked down the trail to Seal Bay the beach is pebbles like the others beaches with a lot of washed up logs. No seals or whales to see must have know we were coming walked some distance before taking steep trail back up to the road and crossing over to the other side and walking the trails to Melda's Marsh named after Melda Buchanan the first female Meteorologist in Canada and a staunt environmentalist. Had a little rest at the lake watched the ducks and saw where the beavers had mad a dam where the water is meant to flow under the bridge.  Every time the people try to divert the water the beavers dam it up.

Picked and ate a lot of wild berries as we were walking the trails walked about 5 or more kms was pleasant looking at the different tall fir trees and different types for ferns and bushes.

Made it back home in time for 4pm afternoon tea with scones. This is when I caught up with our bookings to Whistler and Sun Peaks.

Had yummy spaghetti bolognaise for dinner then ate Richard's chocolate out on the back porch before going to bed.
