Sometimes results are not equal to effort

There are a couple small beaches a little east of here that I wanted to check out. So I got out early, poor sunrise, and climbed the hill at the end of my beach. On the other side is the real Playa del Amor, but this whole end of the beach is referred to as Playa del Amor. It's reputedly frequented mostly by gay men. It's a small, nothing beach; takes an effort to get to; but you can have a lot more privacy there.

The next place didn't look much farther away, but, again, maps can deceive you. It's those darn hills again. I went up a hill and down the hill, and up a hill and down the hill, and up another hill. It was a long way down to the water, and I still couldn't see the beach. I was on a rough dirt road that kept narrowing. I figured if the beach was anything decent, there'd be a little bit better road, and usually signs: not a single sign. So I turned around and trudged back.

I waited for the maid to come, then went and played in the water. The waves hit pretty hard! The sand was smooth as far as I could go, about 50 yds 'til it got to be over my head even in between waves. And the water temp was nice: not too cool, not too warm. Sunned and dried on the lounger. Then came in and fought with the internet all afternoon.

As I write this, I can smell cannabis burning. You can smell pot almost any day anywhere. But more so in resort areas. It's not like it's everywhere, all the time, just don't be surprised when it sneaks up on you.

Another decent sunset
