Back to the beach

San Agustinillo, Oaxaca, Mexico

Got up at 7am, showered, packed. Took my time 'cause I wasn't going to make the 8am bus.
Left at about 8:15. Walked one block to the main street, grabbed a cab.

Ten minutes later I was buying my bus ticket: $3 for a 75 minute ride.

At the bus drop off, it was about 4 mi to the beach I wanted, so I grabbed another cab. We checked a couple places in Mazunte: either full or too expensive.
Went to the next beach, San Agustinillo, tried another place: $24 for an upstairs room with a large common area overlooking two beaches. It was also where about a dozen boats 'parked', right on the beach, but, what the hey, it's on the beach!

The room would be available in about an hour. Okay, it's getting to be lunch time, so I'll grab something.

Went about three buildings down to find this place. Looked good. Stepped in, ordered a beer, wild rice salad, and onion rings. Excellent salad. Lots of wild rice; wild rice being hard to pick up, I used the goat cheese to mop it up. The onion rings were excellent too: tender, moist, tasty onions with a light crispy batter and sprinkled with a salty paprika mix.

It was so good, this little critter kept climbing up my leg and laying in my lap hoping I would share - not a chance! Ate it all myself.

Took some picks of the beautiful waves while sitting there.

Went to see my room: kind of a disappointment, especially the bathroom. (Not going to get into it; just not worth my time.)

Took a walk down the beach. It's actually a pretty nice beach with pretty colored water and interesting waves. The sun was setting as I returned.
