Travel Day

 
We continued heading east on I-80, stopping at the “California Trail Center” in Elko NV . The California Trail Center is a combined information center and museum relating to the history of the pioneers of the mid 1800’s that used the “California Trail” on their westward migration to California, one of the largest displays was that of the Donner party. There were also displays on the California gold miners, the impact on the Native Americans, the hardships endured by the families and many more interactive displays; it was well worth the time we spent there. Driving
through Nevada was boring, as there was nothing but desert that was only periodically interrupted by a baron hillside. We continued east to “West Wendover” on the NV and UT border, where we stopped at a small RV park behind the “Wendover Nugget Hotel & Casino”. After setting up for the night we went over to the casino for dinner and to play the slot machines; we were both lucky again tonight.
