I am enjoying being back in my hometown and having nothing to do. Well, by nothing I mean I am not actually working, but I feel as busy. I had to go blackberry picking with my Mum to make jam. Miam :) and I spend most of my time preparing my trip.

On top of my priority list is 'GETTING VISA' . I need four in total but I will get the one for Cambodia at the border as I don't think I will have time to get it before I leave. Visas are a budgets by themselves. And after giving it long thought, here is what I think:
-Vietnam: easy to apply for and get, do it yourself via the embassy (got that one already)
-India: a little tricky but feasible, you have to go through VF services (UK) Ltd (well still waiting on that one, finger crossed)
-China: a pain, don't do it yourself, go through an agency! (still have to apply for it)

I have also being working on an itinerary. And the one I have come up with seem the best since I want to spend lot of time in China but I am allowed only two stays of no more than 30 days each. pppffffffff At the beginning, I was planning to do everything by land once I had reached China but it is not feasible. Indeed, the Chinese government requires to have your tickets in AND out of the country to deliver a Visa. So the easiest way is to get plane tickets .

I have a rough idea of where I will be going in each country. To help me deciding where I should stop I had a look at the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and have decided that they will be my main stops. There is lots of them in China and Vietnam. I will have to pick the one I am most interested in.

My travel plan:
-India: I will stay in the very South of India. First I will meet with my school friend Chloé for a few days and then with my university friend Tom. My main reason to visit India is to go to Vikash's wedding. It will be a proper Indian wedding and I am really looking forward to it. It's a once in a life time experience. So excite! Look forward to the pictures.
-Taiwan: I will be visiting Chi-Jene (who I met in NYC) in Taipei. And then I will set off for an island tour. In most people mind Taiwan is just a big producer as we see 'Made in Taiwan' on many of the products we buy. However, after reading about it I am looking forward to explore both the natural and cultural sites .
-China: Well, there is too much to say it all. I will try to get a feel of what China is now by exploring cities such as Shanghai and Hong-Kong as well as the country side. Off course a trip to China won't be complete without paying a visit to the world-famous Panda near Chengdu :)
-Vietnam: For some the name will evoke heavenly beaches. They are not the main purpose of my visit. To me it's a country with a 'History'. In this part of Asia, the french had colonies. I hope I will get to hear what Vietnamese think of the French and the Americans.
-Cambodia: Just a small detour to see Angkor Vat. It would be a shame to be that close and miss it.
-Republic of Korea: Last time I wasn't there for long enough and I thought I will have to come back. Well, it's time for it. I will be able to enjoy delicious BBQ :) Depending on how much time I have I might go to Jeju island, sometime called the Hawaii of Korea.
-Japan: Can you think of a best way to end your trip other than cherry blossom viewing in the country of the rising sun?

Cela fait maintenant quelques semaines que je profite d'être à la maison et de n'avoir rien à faire . Bon par rien à faire, je veux dire que je ne travaille pas à proprement parler mais je suis quand même bien occupée. Par exemple, je vais cueillir des mures avec ma mère pour faire de la confiture miam :) et je prépare mon voyage.

Tout en haut de ma liste des 'trucs à faire', il y a 'obtenir les VISA'. Il m'en faut 4 au total mais je pense que je ne vais pas avoir le temps de demander celui pour le Cambodge avant de partir donc j'essaierai de l'obtenir à la frontière. Voilà comment je m'y prends pour les autres VISA:
-Vietnam: facile, on peut le faire soit même en envoyant tous les documents à l'ambassade en France, environ 10 jours. (dans la poche!)
-Inde: pas aussi facile mais faisable. Par contre on est obligé de passer par VF Services (UK) Ltd. J'attends toujours la réponse et je croise les doigts.
-Chine: la misère. Je vous recommande de passer par une agence. Je suis encore en train de rassembler tous les papiers pour monter le dossier....

J'ai aussi pas mal bossé sur mon itinéraire. Au début je pensais en faire le plus possible par voie terrestre mais techniquement, pour obtenir le Visa Chinois, ce n'est pas possible. Il faut en fait fournir les billets entrée/sortie du territoire pour se voir accorder un Visa, et on ne peut être autorisé qu'à 2 séjours de 30 jours consécutifs. La galère. Mais bon en ayant des billets d'avions ça devrait le faire. Il m'a donc fallu décider de dates. Ensuite, il me faut faire un itinéraire, et là c'est un peu plus flou. J'ai décidé d'un thème pour m'aider à décider où aller: sites classés au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Ce sera mes étapes principales même si je ne pourrai pas tous les voir. Il y en a tellement en Chine et au Vietnam.

Mon plan de voyage:
-Inde: Je vais visiter l'extrême sud de l'Inde. Tout d'abord, je vais rejoindre une amie du primaire et ensuite un pote de St Andrews. Mais ma principale raison pour aller en Inde est le mariage de Vikash. Cela va être un vrai mariage indien, il me tarde trop. C'est sûrement une chance qui ne se reproduira pas. Attendez-vous à de super photos!
-Taiwan: Je vais à Taipei rendre visite à Chi-Jene que j'ai rencontré à NYC. Ensuite je partirai pour un tour de l'île. Tout le monde connaît Taiwan pour sa production informatique et tous les produits 'Made in Taiwan'. Mais après avoir lu le guide je pense que je vais me régaler à explorer à la fois les sites naturels et culturels.
-Chine: Bon alors là il y en a vraiment trop à dire. Je vais essayer de voir la Chine d'aujourd'hui en visitant à la fois les grandes mégalopoles comme Shanghai et Hong Kong mais aussi la campagne. Et bien sûr je ne manquerai pas d'aller rendre une petite visite à la star du pays, le Panda qui habite près de Chengdu :)
-Vietnam: un pays chargé d'histoire. Je me demande comment les Vietnamiens voient les français et les américains. J'espère avoir l'occasion de parler avec des anciens de leurs expériences mais aussi avec des jeunes pour avoir la vision actuelle.
-Cambodge: Juste un petit détour pour visiter les temples d'Angkor Vat. Ça serait quand même dommage d'être aussi proche et de les rater.
-République de Corée: la dernière fois je n'y ai passé que quelques jours et je m'étais dit qu'il faudrait que j'y retourne. En voilà l'occasion. Je vais pouvoir me régaler de BBQ :) En fonction du temps que j'ai, je ferai un crochet par l'île de Jeju, aussi appelé la Hawaii de Corée.
-Japon: Pouvez-vous imaginer meilleure fin pour un voyage que de terminer par la contemplation de cerisiers en fleurs au pays du soleil levant ?
